Throughout this course I took on numerous projects and tasks that implemented various techniques and strategies in today’s sport marketing environment. The main project in this course was to develop a marketing campaign for the GolfWeek Amateur Tour in the Washington D.C. and surrounding metropolitan areas. My group and I developed three sponsorship proposals, including two local sponsors and 1 national sponsor. We were also assigned to write out an entire marketing plan for the tour and come up with a promotional item that would be beneficial to the members of the tour. This project was advantageous because we had to really focus on our market, and what demographics would be the best to target in hopes to expand the Washington D.C./Metropolitan GolfWeek Amateur Tour.
